PCB Fails To Submit Report Over Lahore Attacks Even After A Year
The International Cricket Council reported that the Pakistan Cricket Board has still not submitted an official report on the terrorist attacks on the Sri Lankan team in Lahore, which took place last year. Since that incident, the ICC banned international cricket in Pakistan and removed it as the joint host of the upcoming World Cup.

The forced non existence of international matches is taking its toll on cricket in Pakistan, with the PCB crying out against the decision. They have since then claimed that security arrangements have improved and that they are no ready to host international matches. They may be ready, but no country is willing to agree to a tour of Pakistan. With the ICC finally announcing that they would send a special handpicked team to tour Pakistan next year, and ICC chief executive, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Haroon-Lorgat-c61719 claimed that he himself would accompany the team.
This has not only affected the popularity of the game in Pakistan, but also the performance of the team, with the Pakistani team having to play on “borrowed home venues.” The Pakistan team just played a ‘home’ Test series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 in another ‘home’ Test series in UAE.
In hopes of making sense of how something like that had occurred in the first place, the ICC had requested an incident report from the PCB, It was not provided. The request was repeated. But even to this day, no report has been submitted to the PCB. “We asked the PCB to send the security report into the Lahore incident,” Haroon Lorgat told reporters, “We have asked them and we haven't received it.”
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ijaz-Butt-c64128, the PCB chairman denied the claims of the ICC that the report had not been submitted. He brushed aside the allegations as “absolutely incorrect” and confirmed that the report had been submitted shortly after the incident had taken place. “We have resolved that. Everything has been sorted out and there is no problem on that account at all,” Butt said.
However, a source from the PCB revealed that the report had in fact not been submitted. It was revealed that because of the sensitive nature of the report, it was still in the process of being compiled. Since the attack happened in the province of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Punjab-c833, the provincial government, Pakistan’s interior ministry and various other security agencies were involved and that it would probably take a while until the report was finally submitted.
It is puzzling as to why the PCB is taking so long to submit a report that will guarantee the return of international cricket in Pakistan. In fact, the only thing standing in the way of Pakistan hosting international matches is their inability and inefficiency to not be able to submit the report, even after a year since the incident. Former ICC president, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ehsan-Mani-c55791 told reporters, “By not submitting the report, the PCB has not been able to form a strategy with the ICC and until the member boards analyze that report they will continue to hesitate when it comes to touring Pakistan.”
