PCB Manager Yawar Saeed denies beef with Younis Khan
The controversial squad announced for the tour of England brought the former captain of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 cricket team Younis Kahn into the headlines. Every morning fans of Younis find a new story about their favourite cricketer including statements from the top brass of Pakistan Cricket Board. The board management at one side is continuously turning down the talks of differences with the veteran but at the same time the PCB officials are not ready to include him into the national side.
The manager of Pakistan cricket team, Yawar Saeed has denied rumours of having differences with the former captain and said that the media is giving hype to the issue that has no base even. Saeed said that Younis is a tremendous player and he (Yawar Saeed) has a lot of respect for him. Earlier the media has claimed that the basic reason behind omission of Younis from the Test squad for England was his differences with the team manager Yawar Saeed.
Media reports have revealed that the manager and the former captain developed stern differences when the team was visiting http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 for the Champions trophy followed by the exclusion of Yawar Saeed from the management panel touring New Zealand alongside the players.
Yawar Saeed denying the media talks about his removal said that board did not rule him out of the New Zealand tour on Younis’ assertion rather he himself had declined to tour http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 as the team’s manager because of his personal commitments. Yawar said that the former captain respects him a lot and met him at Bradford with a lot of affection.
The manager of Pakistan cricket team also denied the charge of encouraging the cricketers to take oath against Younis Khan. He said that the issue has been drummed up by the media and is totally untrue. Yawar further added that he was as unaware of the oath of players against Younis as any other board member until the case was reported before the committee.
The incumbent manager said that he has been appointed as the manager by the PCB and he works within his domains. He said that other than the role as manager he has no involvement with the matters of board. Yawar said that he has got cordial relations with the former captain and dragging him into the issue is an effort to defame him.
Younis Khan has also blamed the manager for setting off an insurgency against him within the team. Younis also alleged Yawar encouraged the players to approach the Chairman PCB and complain about their grievances about him. Even the inquiry committee meetings - in the aftermath of the disastrous tour of Australia - were initially not attended by Younis Khan as Yawar Saeed was also a part of the inquiry committee, though the decision was taken aback by the former captain later on.
Yawar confirmed the fact that he is the friend of PCB Chief http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ijaz-Butt-c64128 for the last five decades, however, the friendship does not affect his or Ijaz’s official duties. He said that if Younis has been snubbed from the national squad then he has nothing to do with the issue as it is the job of the selection committee to pick the squad not the manager’s.
The veteran test player was snubbed from the on-going tour of England squad despite his indefinite ban being revoked by the appellate board well before the team’s selection. The reason behind the omission was that the experienced test player failed to get his name cleared from the PCB. The legal advisor of PCB, Tafazzul Rizvi has asked Younis Khan to apologize to the PCB Chairman if he wants himself to be considered for the national squad and still the board officials say that they don’t have any issues with Younis at a personal level.
