PCB and BCB have a healthy relation: Rabeed Imam – News Update
Bangladesh Cricket Board’s (BCB’s) official Rabeed Imam has claimed that there is no truth behind reports of a troubled relationship between his board and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
There has been no series played between Bangladesh and Pakistan since 2008 and the reason for that was considered to be a tense relationship between the boards of the respective countries.
However, the Men in Green are likely to visit their neighbouring country for a complete series in December this year after which they will also feature in the Asia Cup scheduled in Bangladesh in 2012.
According to Imam, “The BCB and the PCB have always been in a cordial and healthy relationship. You may recall that http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747 toured Pakistan in 2008 for five One-Day Internationals (ODIs) when other team weren’t touring and we returned for the Asia Cup
later that year as well.”
The BCB official further added, “The two boards have worked closely together to schedule a visit by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 in December which is when both teams will be free from other commitments. The tour may comprise two Tests, three ODIs and a Twenty20 but that’s all
to be confirmed.”
Bangladesh were the co-hosts of the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 and Pakistan later this year on home soil.
Pakistan was also initially amongst the joint hosts of the World Cup, but the security situation in the country forced the sport’s governing body to take the games away from them.
The decision was taken after the Sri Lankan team was attacked by terrorists in Lahore in 2009. No team has visited the troubled country since then and they have been playing their home games mostly in the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/United-Arab-Emirates-c3033 (UAE).
The Men in Green are currently on a tour to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zimbabwe-c3045, where they have already won the Test and ODI series. The team is also scheduled to play a two-match Twenty20 series before returning home.
Bangladesh visited the African nation before their neighbouring country, but lost the Test and ODI series to the hosts.
