PCB announces Pakistan-England series fixtures – Cricket News Update
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced the itinerary for next year’s scheduled series between England and Pakistan, set to kick off in January, 2012, in the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/United-Arab-Emirates-c3033 (UAE).
Both, PCB and the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) selected UAE as the neutral venue for the forthcoming event due to security concerns in Pakistan.
However, prior to the series against England, Pakistan will be taking on the Sri Lankan side, which turned down PCB’s invitation to its home turf, following the 2008 mishap.
For the matter, PCB’s Director Operations, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zakir-Khan-c98546, recently stated, “We did consider a number of options for both the series but it is the right of the home board to decide the venue and finally we have confirmed UAE for all the matches in both the series”.
The Men in Green and the Lankan http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Lions-c808 will be facing each other in UAE between October and November, 2011, kicking off with a 3-match Test series from October 18 to November 7, 2011.
The 3 Tests will be staged at http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Imtiaz-Sheikh-c64290 Zayed Stadium Abu Dhabi, Dubai International Cricket Stadium, and Sharjah Cricket Association Stadium.
The spell will then be followed up with 5 One Day International (ODI) matches from November 11 to November 23 and a one-off Twenty20 (T20) bout on November 25.
As for the Pakistan-England series, the competition will officially take off with a 3-Test series, starting from January 17 and ending on February 7. Two Tests will be played in Abu Dhabi, while the last one will be staged in Dubai.
The event will then include 4 ODI games, from February 13 to February 21, followed by 3 T20s on February 23, 25 and 27.
As for the squads, the player rosters have not yet been confirmed since both the sides are currently engaged in their respective cricket events.
