In recognition to their superb performance at the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games, PCB has rewarded the women cricket team with central contracts which will come into effect from next month.
This is the first time in Pakistan cricket history that the women team has been awarded with this contract.

She said, "It's a positive step from the PCB," Mir said. "It (central contracts) was something badly missing and now the PCB has acknowledged that we can play the game professionally and this will spur us on for more achievements."
The amount of money the team players would earn has not been mentioned yet but the governing body has completely settled the issues regarding the accounts and audit during the meeting held in Lahore. Prior to the women team, PCB gave the central contracts to the men team in 2007.
An official from the PCB told the press, “We want to encourage our female players for their outstanding performance in the Asian Games in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/China-c40996 for winning the cricket gold and awarding central contracts would definitely help in giving financial stability to players to be more focused on the game.”
This was decided in a meeting of PCB governing body in Lahore. The body approved various matters including formally establishment of Integrity Committee, increase in number of Reconciliation Commission and raise in monthly honorarium of former Test cricketers reaching 60 years of age.
