PCB considering removal of Misbah as limited-overs captain: Sources – Cricket News Update
Well-placed sources close to the Pakistan Cricket Board’s national selection committee have revealed that the board is considering the removal of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Misbah-ul-Haq-c1972 as captain in the limited-overs format of the game after the Asia Cup, regardless of whether the
Men In Green win or lose.
“Pakistan's next assignment after the Asia Cup is the tour to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 from late May in which they play three Tests, five ODIs and two T20 matches,” the source told the PTI. “And all indications are that the board and selectors feel that it is time for
Misbah to be restricted to leading the Test team while a new captain will be announced for the ODI and T20 teams.”
Despite his obvious talent at captaining the Test side (as evident in Pakistan’s 3-0 whitewash of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 in February this year), Misbah did not prove to be a popular ODI and T20 captain. Following the team’s 0-4 loss in the ODI series, the skipper came

The source also revealed that the board was looking for “younger players and fresh faces” for the ODI and T20 squads, owing to the fact that most senior players would be unlikely to carry on playing till the 2015 World Cup.

Regardless, Pakistan has managed to bounce back after their drubbing at the hands of the Poms, and are currently at the top of the series points table for the Asia Cup. They will be playing the tournament final against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747 tomorrow on March 22 at
the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur.
