PCB declares War with ICC after stunning statement by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ijaz-Butt-c64128

A scathing attack on the International Cricket Council might jeopardize Pakistan’s immediate future in the game as the supremo of Pakistan Cricket Board told national and international media that some of
the English players were involved in throwing the Oval ODI and were being backed by the governing body of the game in a plot which is meant to defraud cricket in the country.
In the first part of a statement that he read out to some of the leading TV channels in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 Ijaz Butt revealed that some of the leading English players were involved in match fixing that led to their
stunning collapse during the third match of the five match ODI series.
Ijaz said “We are launching our own investigation into the scandal as some bookies have told us that English players were paid an enormous sum of money that resulted in their stunning collapse in the Oval
match, we have evidence and will soon reveal the names of the players and officials involved in this scandal”.
"This is not a conspiracy to defraud bookies but a conspiracy to defraud Pakistan and Pakistan cricket," Butt said. "We have taken it in hand to start our own investigations. We will shortly reveal the names
of the people, the parties and the bodies involved in this sinister conspiracy and we also reserve the right to sue them for damages.”
"We feel the media in certain countries is biased and not fair. We feel august cricket bodies are also involved in this conspiracy, which will damage the great game of cricket."
It became evident from the stance of the PCB on an eventful day that they are clearly disgruntled and have decided that the only way to ward of the current spate of allegations is by adopting a no nonsense
policy.
They wanted to fight the implication that Pakistan's batsmen were under the scanner and received a major boost when they got credible evidence from some bookies that foul play in the third ODI was in fact
from the English squad that let the match slip through its grip with an unexpected collapse where they lost five wickets for the addition of a mere 17 runs.
Interestingly the ICC didn't point finger at Pakistan in their statement – and it was only the English tabloid The Sun that made the claim that the pattern between the 38th and 40th
over of visitors innings was under the scanner of the ICC Anti Corruption and Security Unit headed by former police officer Ronnie Flanagan.
It is perceived that Butt was referring to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Haroon-Lorgat-c61719, the Chief Executive of the governing body of the game when he read the following part of his aggressive statement.
"One statement from a very august official of the ICC said no, only Pakistan players were involved," Butt said.
The former test cricketer who is under increasing criticism from all quarters due to his stubborn attitude claimed that his Board was investigating the matter and would root out the evil once for all.
"I will be revealing names of people and organizations who are involved in this, so I don't want to comment more on the investigations just now. Details will come out only once our investigations are complete."
It remains to be seen what the outcome of Butt’s bold stance is, for the time being cricket pundits are puzzled at the lack of communication that exists between the ICC and one of its oldest and most reliable
members.
A clearly perturbed former chief of the ICC http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ehsan-Mani-c55791 remarked that the ICC has lost all confidence and trust in PCB and it seems that hopes of a reconciliation between the two bodies are all but lost after
the latest Butt bouncer.
