PCB destroying the career of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Rashid-Latif-c84084 – Cricket News Update
Former Pakistani captain, Rashid Latif, has slammed the previous cricket board of the country and said that http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ijaz-Butt-c64128 and company have tried to destroy the career of leg-spinner Danish Kaneria, by not allowing him to play for Pakistan
because of his alleged involvement in spot-fixing.
Danish last represented Pakistan in the controversial tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 in United Arab
Emirates, but was held back just hours before the team was about to leave for the tour.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) feels that the leg-spinner has failed to prove that he was never involved in corruption. This is the reason why, the integrity committee of PCB has not cleared him so far.
Latif, who is arguably the best wicketkeeper produced by Pakistan, said that all the cricketing nations respect their heroes and this gives a huge motivation to the youngsters to follow their foot-steps; however, this is not the case in
Pakistan.
He said, "All around the cricketing world they preserve their players, however in Pakistan the ideology is just the opposite as the PCB is destroying Kaneria's career."
Kaneria is one of the most successful spin bowlers produced by Pakistan, as he has grabbed 261 scalps in 61 Test matches at an average of 34.79 runs per innings. However, a number of cricket analysts do not rate him as a match-winner because
whenever he picks up a five wicket haul, he concedes 100 runs on average.
However, Rashid rates him very high and feels that the leg-spinner should be respected by the cricket officials of the country and should be brought back to the Test team as soon as possible. The former http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 captain is of the opinion
that Kaneria can still serve the country in future.
“He is the most successful spinner of the country, hence should be treated with respect. I would say it's an economical murder of a player who has served the country very well and is still eager to continue," Latif added.
