PCB expected to award http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohammad-Sami-c77289 central contracts – Cricket News Update
Good news strikes the much criticized wicket-keeper batsman, Kamran Akmal, along with pacers, Mohammad Sami and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohammad-Talha-c77400, and batsman, Yasir Hameed, all of whom have been nominated for central contracts by the PCB. However, the relevant category has not been identified yet.
“The committee has decided to extend the list,” the official told a local newspaper. “Apart from Sami, Kamran, Yasir and Talha have also been nominated. Kamran has got the selection committee’s go-ahead which has no issues with his inclusion in the list. But the committee is yet to finalise what category these will be put in. It will be finalised and announced after the chairman’s approval.”
Kamran had been dropped from all formats of the game following his high-profile blunders with the gloves during the team’s World Cup 2011 campaign. He had further come under notice by the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625’s anti-corruption and security unit following Nottingham Test against England in July 2010 before being cleared by the governing body.
However, strong showings in the domestic season paved way for his recent call-up, which saw him being included for the upcoming http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 series and the subsequent World T20 campaign. Also, with no other wicket-keeper stepping up during that period, the selectors were left with little choice but to recall the 30-year-old.
"We have tried lots of wicketkeeper batsmen after Kamran, but nothing was panning out, We need a solid wicketkeeper who can score quick runs and currently Kamran is the only option for us.” Chief selector http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohammad-Iqbal-Qasim-c76980 said.
The second player, expected to be awarded a contract is 34-year-old, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Asad-Shafiq-c46208.
His admission to the contracted list of players could have come on the back of some noteworthy displays in the domestic circuit. The player recently appealed to the PCB chairman to include him in the national team fold.
As for Sami, he has become a regular in recent time, and was a part of the team’s tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 last month.
