PCB chief Zaka http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 team, and appreciated the way he remained cool in the face of pressure and lead the team to victory in the Asia Cup.
“Everyone talks against Misbah but he has captained the side really well. There was a lot of pressure on Pakistan in the Asia Cup but Misbah didn't let the team down,” Ashraf said.
Misbah’s captaincy attracted praise after he led the side to a 3-0 whitewash of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 in a Test series earlier this year in the UAE. However, the team went on to suffer shocking defeats in the limited-overs series, losing the ODIs 0-4, and the T20s 1-2.
The skipper’s supporters dwindled, and the pressure began to build as critics slammed Misbah for his inability to captain the national side in limited overs matches. Former captain http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shoaib-Akhtar-c90080 were particularly critical, claiming
Misbah lacked the necessary aggression to lead the team to victory in the shorter format of the game, and was apathetic and passive on field.
Following their losses against the Poms, the Men In Green went into the Asia Cup with immense pressure riding on their shoulders, but excluding a match against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 which they lost by 6 wickets, the national team remained triumphant, and won the Asia Cup

“Misbah as captain … does not wilt under pressure. He can face any situation and at the same time keep the team's confidence high,” Ashraf said, adding that it was unfair to place undue pressure on Misbah when he had additional duties which required him
to perform well as a senior player.
Recent rumours in circulation suggested that the board was considering the removal of Misbah from captaincy in ODIs and T20s. However, a senior official from the board explained that along with his abilities to lead, Misbah had other qualities which made
the PCB keen to retain him as skipper.
“… he speaks well and sensibly before the media … he is not fond of giving unnecessary or controversial statements in the media … He is seen as not only a good captain but an excellent ambassador for Pakistan cricket,” said the senior board official.
