PCB forges task team to improve domestic cricket performance – cricket News Update
The http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 Cricket Board (PCB) has formed a task team, of former cricketers, in order to monitor and improve the structure of domestic cricket within the country.
Including legends like http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Wasim-Akram-c96292, was
also offered a place, but he refused, citing personal reasons.
The newly formed team will be responsible for analysing aspects of domestic cricket, including but not limited to coaching, selection system, tournaments, training and remuneration of the players. The squad will present a joint report to the board's chairman,
Zaka Ahsraf, on the basis of which each member will be obligated to devise strategies to ameliorate the standards of First-Class, List A and T20 formats.
The board’s press release stated, “Chairman PCB, Zaka http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ashraf-c46397, has approved to constitute a Task Team to give suggestions to PCB for the improvement of Domestic Cricket in Pakistan. The Task Team will study and review the existing structure of domestic cricket
considering its weaknesses and strengths and will propose any changes if they feel that is required.”
It further narrated, “The body will meet and deliberate at times and places of their convenience. They will meet as many times as they consider appropriate to undertake the study and review.”
Being the brainchild of Ashraf who took the baton from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ijaz-Butt-c64128 recently, this master-plan is meant to uplift the game at the domestic and International levels. After the recent spot-fixing scandal involving three Pakistani players, the PCB is taking up
measures to ensure no black sheep is allowed in the kingdom again.
According to PCB, the current state of domestic cricket in the country is not up to the mark, the results of which can be felt at the national and International levels. Zaka is confident that the employed team will accomplish the task to ensure stability
at the domestic level.
