PCB has not yet decided to impose life ban on Haider- http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Nadeem-Sarwar-c78422
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 Cricket Board has said that it has not yet decided to impose a life time ban on the runaway wicketkeeper Zulqarnain Haider. This was revealed by the media manager of PCB, Mr. Nadeem Sarwar while talking to the media.
Earlier there was news that the Pakistan Cricket Board is looking into the possibility of imposing a life ban on wicketkeeper, after his reproachful step of fleeing Dubai for London ahead of the deciding ODI against the Proteas. PCB had also come up with
its usual statement of “conspiracy to defraud Pakistan cricket” saying that Haider’s case is more likely to be a scheme to defame the country’s game.
Zulqarnain Haider was included into the squad for neutral venue series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 after the first choice wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal went through an appendicitis surgery earlier last month. But the 24-year-old fled to London on Monday
morning without informing the tour management, PCB or the International Cricket Council (ICC) rather left a message on his Facebook wall citing death threats from match-fixers.
The Pakistan team was without a backup wicketkeeper and Umar Akmal, the youngest of the Akmal brothers, who has been keeping the wickets occasionally in the domestic circuit, was given the responsibility with the gloves but all this brought
embarrassment once again for Pakistan cricket, which is already confronting various controversies and scandals regarding spot-fixing and team management.
The PCB media manager also said that the board has no contact with Haider and rather opined that the wicketkeeper should contact the PCB as he has left the camp without notifying anybody. Sarwar said that though the players have violated the PCB code of
conduct by leaving the team hotel without informing team management, the board has not yet imposed any kind of ban or penalty on him and is examining his statements. He further added that any verdict against Haider would come after a complete inquiry into
the matter.
Adnan Akmal, has been called into the side to keep the wickets during the Test leg of the neutral venue series against South Africa. Adnan Akmal is third of the Akmal brothers, younger to Kamran Akmal but elder than emerging Umar Akmal.
