PCB hire sports psychologist and motivational speaker – Cricket News Update
Pakistan Cricket Board has hired http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Moin-ul-Atiq-c77620, the former cricketer, as sports psychologist and motivational speaker to help overcome player problems. Moin is a degree qualified sports psychologist and has worked with the PCB in the past.
“Yes I have done a few courses in sports psychology and hold a degrees in sports management from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 and will be using my experiences to help players to overcome their problems,” he said on Tuesday at the National Stadium in Karachi.
“Being a former international cricketer myself, it will be easy for me to understand the problems of the players and help them overcome them,” added Moin, who played one Test and five One-Day Internationals for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755.
Talking about his experience as a motivational speaker, Moin said that he went with the national U-15’s squad on tour of the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 two years ago and has also worked with the U-19 players in different regional academies.
All major teams have sport psychologists, which help players to work on the mental aspect of their game. Moin said that while it took time to convince the PCB in initiating such role, he welcomed the decision, adding that he is still looking forward to work
with not only the national team players but cricketers from all levels.
The PCB had earlier initiated a rehabilitation Program which consisted of counselling sessions for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohammad-Amir-c76675 - caught in the spot-fixing incident - to channel his thoughts in the right direction, while making him ready to play cricket once again after

The sessions are a part of the ICC program to rehabilitate the tainted player, while educating them in way where they don’t repeat such mistakes. Dr. Maqbool Babri, who is a psychotherapist and a certified clinical hypnotherapist, has been working closely
with the left-armer, having already served the national team previously, during the T20 World Cup in 2009 which the Men in Green went onto win, beating http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 in the finals.
Lastly, the PCB’s chief operating officer, Subhan Ahmad, stated that the board hired the psychologist after growing concerns over the national team players’ mental strength.
