PCB lauded by The International Cricket Council
The International Cricket Council is impressed by the efforts of the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 Cricket Board (PCB) to stamp out corruption from the country’s cricket. The International Cricket Council applauded the promptness with which the Pakistan
Cricket Board has enforced the recommendations presented by the ICC.
After the spot-fixing fiasco, the Pakistan Cricket Board was advised by the International Cricket Council to take serious steps to root out corruption from Pakistan cricket; failing to do so would lead to sanctions imposed by the
International Cricket Council. After which the Pakistan Cricket Board took a bold decision and enforced a new code of conduct with strict punishments for anyone violating discipline or involvement in any corrupt activities.
The code of conduct was not just formulated but also implemented with immediate effect, forcing all the Pakistani players in the squad for the series in the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/United-Arab-Emirates-c3033 to sign the new code of conduct before the beginning
of the tournament.
The Pakistan cricket board has formulated a proper plan to eradicate match fixing and to make sure that the culture of match fixing never emerges again. The first phase of the plan was the formulation of a new code of conduct and
its implementation, the next phase includes a plan to regulate agents of the Pakistani players and an enhanced countrywide education programme for the players on corruption and doping matters.
The Pakistan Cricket Board has recognised that it is of utmost importance that the integrity of the game be protected even if it means sacrificing a few corrupt players. This is the reason the Pakistan Cricket Board has refused
to defend its three players – Salman Butt, Mohammad Amir and Mohammad Asif - accused of spot-fixing during the Test series in England this year.
“The Pakistan Cricket Board has clearly recognised that it is imperative to protect the integrity of cricket and we are indeed impressed by the progress reported by them. They have shown a clear determination.” said International
Cricket Council’s Chief Executive, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Haroon-Lorgat-c61719.
The Pakistan Cricket Board has barred the players from using facilities belonging to the Board, which means the players cannot practice at the National Cricket Academy. The central contracts of the players have also been suspended
putting an end to the monthly salaries of the trio. The Chairman Cricket Board has also made it very clear that the board will not help the players fight their case.
The Pakistan Cricket Board has severed relations with the tainted trio to protect cricket in Pakistan, as it was getting very clear that the International Cricket Council might impose sanctions on cricket in Pakistan if serious
actions were not taken to root out corruption from the country’s cricket.
If everything goes according to PCB’s plans, Pakistan will redeem itself in the world of cricket and the issues of corruption will finally be put to rest for once and all. These steps are definitely going to help the world of cricket
and particularly cricket in Pakistan.
