PCB likely to appoint Shoaib Malik as Pakistan’s limited-over captain - Cricket News Update
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to appoint the star all-rounder, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shoaib-Malik-c90088, as Pakistan’s ODI and Twenty20 captain.
According to PCB’s sources, the chairman of the Board, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ijaz-Butt-c64128, is compelled to consider Malik for Pakistan’s captaincy, courtesy to the recent unpleasant controversies, rifts and grouping among players.
PCB’s sources added, the political ranks of the country have been forcing the chairman of the governing body of cricket in Pakistan to recall Malik as the skipper of the ODI side.

However, before assigning him the charge, he will be included in Pakistan’s squad for the forthcoming series against Zimbabwe.
At the moment, Malik is attending PCB’s integrity committee meetings to prove himself innocent against match-fixing charges.
Earlier, it was alleged that the former skipper had been engaged in suspicious activities, and in this regard the PCB handed over the issue to its integrity committee for further investigation.
However, according to sources, Malik has satisfied PCB’s integrity committee regarding the allegations.
In the last proceeding of the committee, which took place on August, 15, 2011, at PCB’s headquarter, Lahore, no decision was announced; however, it is expected that Malik would be cleared for the selection before Pakistan team leaves for Zimbabwe.
