to sources Riaz threw his pads at Trott and the latter grabbed Wahab Riaz by the neck. In the midst of so much controversy both the teams sought to keep this incident under the wraps, and therefore tried to downplay the incident.
The event led to considerable anger and raw emotions were flying in all directions before the fourth ODI at Lords in the dressing room. There was even talk of opting out of the tournament however it was later decided to continue with the match and the series.
In what could be considered a t*t for tat response by the PCB over the letter sent to the chairman by the ECB that asked him to issue a public apology or be prepared to face the consequences. The ECB has assured its players that it would be willing to pay
for any legal action that the players decide to take against the chairman PCB for defamation.

The sheer brilliance and class of Wasim and Waqar was undoubted and those who tried to emulate them failed, since they were just not good enough. Many writers have mentioned how, during their stint at counties, they were often blamed for ball tampering since
the English bowlers were simply not good enough to achieve what these bowlers had achieved.
"These men would not have been emulated by other bowlers of their own and other nationalities if only they had possessed the necessary skill," writes Christopher Martin Jenkins.
