PCB mulling over dropping the senior players after the World T20 semi-final defeat – Cricket News Update
According to reports, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is seriously mulling over dropping some of the senior players like http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shoaib-Malik-c90088 for the forthcoming limited-over series against India.
The two neighbouring countries are going to take on each other in a bilateral series for the first time since the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 will include three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and a couple of T20s.

Some of the former cricketers and media are not happy with the underperforming senior players and have been calling for their exclusion from the squad.
According to a senior official in the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), a high-level meeting is going to take place in Lahore very soon to decide the fate of some of the experienced players, who failed to help their team qualify for the final in Sri Lanka.
“Pakistan cricket’s think-tank will sit down at the PCB headquarters here over the next two days in a bid to come out with a blueprint for success ahead of the national team’s groundbreaking tour of India,” the source said. “There is a big question mark
on the performance of several senior players including former captains Shahid Afridi and Shoaib Malik.”
There are a number of budding players coming through the ranks of domestic cricket in the country, having done exceedingly well in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy over the last couple of years.
The selection committee, headed by the former left-arm spinner, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohammad-Iqbal-Qasim-c76980, wants to give opportunities to the fresh talent but it remains a mystery that they should be tried in such a high-profile series or not.
“The PCB think-tank has to decide their fate. Many believe that Pakistan should infuse young blood in the national team but others argue that dropping senior players for a high-pressure series against India might backfire,” he added.
Majority of the Pakistan players are currently taking part in the President’s Trophy, looking to prove their form and fitness to the selectors.
