Ramiz Raja, the former skipper of team http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 and famous commentator has impressed upon PCB to decide which way it wants to move for salvaging the integrity of national cricket team.
While sharing his views before the reporters in Lahore, Ramiz said, “The year 2010 has been a terrible one for Pakistan cricket team as the scandals have caused a lot of damage to our image. Now, the board has to decide whether they want talented but ‘chor’
players or those with less talent but more integrity and honesty.”
Ramiz, who also happens to be the former chief executive of Pakistan Cricket Board, lamented the fact that image of the whole country was being tarnished because of the recent controversies Pakistan cricket has faced. He was also of the opinion that such
issues have affected performance of the Pakistan cricket team largely.
Ramiz was of the view that the biggest problem with Pakistan Cricket Board was about maintaining honesty and integrity among the team members. He insisted upon the fact that the authorities must realise how important it was to be and perceived as honest.
He also went on adding that Pakistan had some very good young players, and according to him, the road to the World Cup was quite positive and bright. However, he also reiterated the fact that a decision on part of the Board must prevail soon about the road
it wanted to take and termed the choices available to the authorities as limited.
Ramiz lauded the way team Pakistan had played against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 and England during last few months and said it was a true depiction of the fact that how team Pakistan was capable of fighting, despite having severe problems.
Concluding his remarks, Ramiz said, “I don’t think people will ever forgive the players if they are found guilty of corruption because they derailed the entire process of rebuilding the team and put us back by a few years.”
