PCB optimistic about Bangladesh tour of Pakistan - Cricket News Update
Pakistan Cricket Board officials are still looking forward to their Bangladeshi counterparts for help in the revival of international cricket in the troubled country, as the board, on Tuesday, asked Bangladesh Cricket Board
to keep it updated about the proceedings of the case filed with the Dhaka High Court against Bangladesh team’s expected tour of Pakistan.
"After perusing the copy of the writ petition regarding the Bangladesh tour of Pakistan, pending in Dhaka High Court Division, the PCB sent an official communique to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747 Cricket Board (BCB) asking it to submit copy of
the court order and copy of the appeal (if any) filed by BCB against the stay order," PCB said in a statement released on Wednesday.
The Bangladesh Cricket team was scheduled to tour Pakistan this week for a One Day International and T20 International match to be played at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, on 29th and 30th of this month.
But a petition filed with the Dhaka High Court by a Dhaka University teacher Khandaker Didarus Salam for the cancelation of the tour on security grounds led to the postponement of the itinerary for a minimum of four weeks. The court said that it will review
the security situation in the host country in a month before giving its verdict.
The http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 Cricket Board maintained that the application filed against the tour was “devoid of merits” and was against the public interest.
"After perusal of the writ by officials of PCB assisted by a legal advisor, prima facie the writ petition is devoid of merits and has been filed against public interest, which will be detrimental to the game of cricket," the PCB statement read further.
Had the Bangladesh Cricket team come to Pakistan according to plans, it would have been the first Test playing team to tour Pakistan in three years.
No international team has toured Pakistan since the 2009 militant attacks on Sri Lankan cricket team's bus in Lahore. Seven visiting players, including their assistant manager, were injured during the condemnable incident. Since then,  Pakistan has
been forced to play its home series on neutral venues of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/United-Arab-Emirates-c3033.
