According to recent reports, the Pakistan Cricket Board has formulated a committee to inspect the current state of the cricket venues in Pakistan to improve the quality and increase the number of available stadiums.
There has been no International cricket in the country after the terrorist attacks on Sri Lankan team in 2009, and since then Pakistani fans are deprived of the live action in their home grounds.
However, the Pakistan Cricket Board has not given up hope of holding International events in the future; therefore, they have planned to upgrade the current stadiums and also increase the number of Test cricket venues.
The committee formulated comprises of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Intikhab-Alam-c64380, Mir Haider Ali Talpur and Chaudary Anwar, who will be carrying out the inspections.
Their assessment report will further guide the PCB’s action plan and appropriate decisions will be taken. The officials plan to transform the ODI venues into Test grounds and also upgrade them up to the best possible level.
Currently there are three Test venues in the country namely Karachi, Lahore and Faisalabad. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Hyderabad-c792 and few other cricket grounds into
the Test list and hence has planned major reconstruction and renovation.
The officials said that they are hopeful about cricket’s revival in the country and are making the required preparations. The main objective is to bring the local grounds up to the international level and broaden the options for holding long-format fixtures.
There are good quality cricket grounds in Sheikhupura, Gujranwala, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sialkot-c842 and Abbottabad, but they do not enjoy the status of ODI venues. The PCB has plans to do necessary maintenance in these cities and grant them the status of being the One-Day International
venues.
Recently, the PCB tried to revive the broken cricketing ties with the conventional rival http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mumbai-c820 attacks, India had cut-off all direct cricketing relations with Pakistan. Although the recent attacks in Mumbai have put the revival process
in doubt, still the PCB believes that it will soon be able to bring International teams to the country.
