PCB senior officials want “A” team on foreign tours –Cricket News Update

“The ‘A’ tours are necessary because they help backup players get exposure in different countries “It helps them develop their game in line with the demanding conditions,” said a selector while talking with The Express Tribune.
According to the selectors, there is an ample stock of young and talented players in the country’s domestic circuit, who need overseas exposure of playing under varied conditions. They further believe that the opportunity will help the players to improve
their cricketing skills, along with enhancing their ability to cope with pressure situations.
“The head coach [http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Davenell-Frederick-Whatmore-c52571] has also expressed his concern and has asked the senior board officials to try and arrange more ‘A’ and under-19 tours so that the backup players don’t get exposed against quality opposition,” the selector added.

The chief Selector, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohammad-Iqbal-Qasim-c76980, has also backed the idea of an A team touring foreign countries. He believes that it will greatly benefit youngsters, despite admitting that the option remains unfeasible due to financial constraints.
“These tours are crucial and give us a chance to try out the youngsters at the top level, But it depends on the available finances,” he said.
The selection committee chief further told that the international tours are based on reciprocal basis where the touring team also hosts the visiting country. The case in Pakistan however, is relatively different as the foreign teams hesitate to play Green
Shirts’ on their home soil, following the attack on Sri Lankan team bus in 2009.
In Pakistan, the only merit for the players to be selected in the national team is their performances at the domestic level. This however, is not the ultimate option of selection across other cricket playing Nations. Countries like Australia, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 and South
