http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755’s former captain, Shahid Afridi, has advised the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to appoint a professional manager along with specialist coaches rather than considering a head mentor for the Team.
The star all-rounder, Afridi, who recently announced conditional retirement from International cricket, said that the head coach cannot handle all the affairs individually.
According to the hard-hitting batsman the decision not to appoint a head coach will lead assistant coaches to perform their duties freely.
“There should, instead, be a strong and competent manager along with assistant coaches.” The former skipper shared.
Afridi, who earlier highlighted confrontation with the team management openly in the media after the recently concluded http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 tour, which led the PCB to sack him from Pakistan’s captaincy, stated that head coaches concentrate to draft controversies rather than fulfilling their duties.
“The assistant coaches will focus solely on their jobs rather than get involved in other issues. The manager will be there to look after everything. Matters will become simpler and things will go smoothly.” He added.

In the meanwhile, the governing body of cricket in Pakistan is looking forward to appointing a new coach for the Men in Green.
It is expected that the PCB will consider a local person for the post instead of considering foreign coaches.
However, the vibrant all-rounder, Afridi, who captained his national side in 36 One Day Internationals, expressed that the coach should be qualified, and admired the services of the Pakistan’s former coach, the late http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Robert-Andrew-Woolmer-c85587.
“I won’t go into the debate of whether the PCB should hire a foreign or a local coach. Pakistan just need a qualified coach. The team needs a coach like Woolmer who was qualified and had plenty of experience.” The dashing batsman said.
Afridi, who was born in Khyber Agency, has represented his home team in 325 One Day International fixtures, and 27 tests, earning 6695, and 1716 runs respectively.
He has also taken 315 One Day International, and 48 Test wickets respectively.
