PCB should revive ties with BCCI on equal terms, says Ehsan Mani – Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625) chief, has warned the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) of following their Indian counterparts blindly and feels that the neighbouring country should also help the revival of international
sport in Pakistan.
The Board of Control for Cricket in Indian (BCCI) invited Pakistan earlier this month to play a limited-overs series against the Men in Blue in December, the tour comprising three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and two T20 Internationals.
Prior to that, the BCCI also invited http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 in October. If everything moves forward smoothly, this
will be the first instance that a Pakistani team will compete in the illustrious event.
Mani has welcomed the revival of Indo-Pak cricketing ties, believing that the sport will help bring the people of two countries closer and reduce tension between http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Delhi-c780 and Islamabad. The former ICC chief however, expressed that the
PCB must not compromise on a relation, which is based on mutual benefit.
"They blindly followed what the BCCI conveyed to them. The officials showed a lack of competence by saying yes without putting forward the board’s point of view," Mani said. "However, as far as the resumption is concerned, it will be good for world cricket,
fans and help in bridging gaps between the two countries."
The Indo-Pak cricketing relations halted in the aftermath of the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mumbai-c820 Terror Attacks in 2008, which deteriorated relations between the neighbouring countries.
Since the attack on the Sri Lankan team outside the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, in March 2009, no international team has visited http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755, consequently damaging PCB’s financial situation.
The former chief of the world’s governing body believes that PCB wasted a great opportunity of earning immense revenue, which is expected from the forthcoming battle.
“The PCB should have demanded the revenue sharing. The BCCI is expected to earn a sum of $100 million from the series. But if the PCB is conceding the revenue then it should take BCCI’s word about the next series which is very important,” he added.
