PCB to conduct Anti-corruption awareness programmes for the Regional teams
The Pakistan Cricket Board has announced that it will be spearheading its anti-corruption drive by introducing an anti-corruption awareness programme for the domestic teams in Pakistan.
This decision by the Pakistan Cricket Board comes in the wake of instructions from the International Cricket Council to root out corruption from the infrastructure of the sport within the country.
The objective of this anti-corruption programme is to eradicate corruption existing within the domestic circuit.
The spokesperson for the Pakistan Cricket Board said,
“The anti-corruption awareness programme is meant to familiarise regions with the new domestic anti-corruption code being implemented by the PCB.”
According to details, the awareness programme will last from December 10th until 22nd. Lectures and videos related presentations will be conducted at different domestic clubs. The basic idea is to get the
domestic sides acquainted with the new code of conduct, which deals with the rules and regulations against corruption of any form in cricket. The programme will be headed by PCB’s security manager, Colonel http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Wasim-Ahmed-c96289.
According to the PCB, on the 10th, the team from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Hyderabad-c792 will join in. The teams from Kahuta Research Laboratories
and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-International-Airlines-c831 (PIA) team will be getting its acquaintance with the programme.
The PCB is taking these steps against corruption because earlier this year the board had to face an embarrassing situation when three of its key players (Salman Butt, Mohammad Amir and Mohammad Asif) were alleged of being involved
in spot fixing during Pakistan’s tour of England.
The PCB immediately suspended the players from playing for the rest of the tour and later, the International Cricket Council suspended the players from taking part in any format of the game. Later on, another Pakistani player (wicketkeeper
Zulqarnain Haider) created a rather confusing and embarrassing situation when he deserted the national squad during an ongoing series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 in UAE on the pretext of being harassed by bookies who wanted him to lose a match.
The Pakistan Cricket Board has now decided to educate the people related with the game about the different types of corruption that exist in the game and the board is aiming to inform the players and coaches on ways to protect
themselves from getting involved in such corrupt practices.
