PCB to decide fate of Kamran Akmal, Danish Kaneria and Shoaib Malik on Thursday

Former Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik, along with wicketkeeper batsman Kamran Akmal and spinner Danish Kaneria, will appear before the inquiry committee of the Pakistan Cricket Board in Lahore on Thursday, 30 December 2010 as the board
plans to decide their future in Pakistan cricket.
The trio has not been picked for the national side since their 2010 tour of England. Apparently, there are no specific issues attached with the selection of all three players but there are rumours that their names have not been cleared
by the Integrity Committee of the PCB.
The board, however, has not made any official comment regarding their exclusion from the side and has not charged them with any kind of wrongdoing.
The right-arm leg-break bowler, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 but was not permitted by the PCB from travelling at the last minute without
mentioning any reason.
Regular wicketkeeper of Pakistan, Kamran Akmal was left behind from the UAE tour owing to the appendicitis operation he had undergone in early October and is waiting for a call-up since then. In a bid to know the reason behind his
sacking from the team, Akmal even wrote a letter to the International Cricket Council asking if there were any charges of corruption or misconduct on him. But it was not the case as ICC cleared his name.
The inquiry committee of the board asked the trio to submit particulars about their bank accounts and property holdings over the past three years. All the three players have reportedly submitted their assets details and are now ready
to face the inquiry committee which would be chaired by chairman PCB http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ijaz-Butt-c64128 along with senior board officials. It was due to the ongoing inquiry against these three senior players that Pakistan have delayed the announcement of its 30-member preliminary
squad for ICC World Cup 2011.
Three match-winning players of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755, Salman Butt, Mohammad Amir and Mohammad Asif are preparing to face the ICC tribunal in the make-or-break hearing regarding the spot-fixing allegations against them.
The PCB’s selection committee is expected to meet on Friday to announce its preliminary squad for next year’s World Cup after it was given an extension until 5 January by the ICC.
Malik, Akmal and Kaneria, if cleared by the committee, would be undisputed picks for the 30-man preliminary squad and more than likely in the final 15 as well.
