PCB to get bulletproof buses for safety concern - Cricket News Update
Pakistan Cricket Board’s executives finally agreed to buy bulletproof buses for high security for international cricket teams. The meeting took place in Abbottabad and PCB Chairman Zaka http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ashraf-c46397 chaired the event.
"To ensure best security protocols for international teams, the Board of Governors unanimously approved the purchase of bullet proof buses," the PCB said in a statement. "The members noted that the step would enable the PCB to achieve higher security measures
for the teams visiting Pakistan in future".
No foreign team has played in Pakistan since 2009 attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team’s bus in Lahore. In that failed terror incident eight people died and seven Sri Lankan players were injured. However, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) expects that international
cricket will resume very soon after successful staging of two exhibition matches by World XI in Karachi over the weekend.
The PCB officials also talked on the construction of a cricket stadium in Islamabad, equipped with lodging facilities for international teams in order to give them superior safety.
"The board was updated on the progress thus far and a roadmap was shared with them," the statement said. "The board appreciated it as a positive initiative for the revival of international cricket in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755. The board unanimously decided to name the stadium
after Mohtarma Shaheed Benazir Bhutto," the PCB report revealed.
PCB had acquired a 35-acre piece of land in Islamabad at the start of this year. According to sources, the stadium would be the largest in the country with a capacity up to 50,000 spectators.
The reports assured that the ground will be constructed in the centre of the city, close to Shakarparian. According to an understanding between Capital Development Authority (CDA) & Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) states that PCB will collect up to 70% of income
that will be generated by the stadium, whereas Capital Development Authority (CDA) will procure rest of the 30%.
