PCB wants ICC to review Saeed Ajmal’s exclusion - Cricket News Update
As a sign of showing its resentment, Pakistan on Monday, has lodged a strong protest with the International Cricket Council (ICC) for overlooking its star spin wizard, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Saeed-Ajmal-c87859 from short listing for a prestigious annual award.
The Pakistan Cricket Board spokesperson said that they are hopeful that the cricket’s governing body would consider the inclusion of the off-spinner, after due review, for the coveted ‘Test Cricketer of the Year’ award.
Pakistan’s objection came after http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Vernon-Philander-c2753 were ‘shortlisted’ ahead of Ajmal, who remained the leading wicket-taker in the format with 72 wickets (24.29) in 12 Test matches during the period from Aug
5, 2011 till Aug 4, 2012, a time frame considered by the ICC for making its picks.
The star bowler almost single-handedly brought down the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 swept the then number one Test side with a 3-0 whitewash.
The omission of the player fuelled suspicion to a growing sense amidst Pakistani fans, who believe that their team is not given the due importance it deserves on the international level.
"Yes, we have shown our concerns on Ajmal's name not shortlisted for test player of the year award despite his excellent performance in tests during that stipulated period," Sarwar told AFP.
A 30-man panel of sports journalists, officials and former players vote for the list. The annual award ceremony will be held on September 15 in Colombo just prior to the inauguration of the ICC World T20 Championship.

ECB’s decision to put up his case for the nominations.
Cricket http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 (CSA), in a strong protest, boycotted the 2009 award ceremony in Johannesburg after several of its players were also overlooked for the awards.
