I have had 2 miscarriages and since then my period are CRAZY so my doctor put me on Metformin 500mg twice a day for about 6 months and then just added Clomid 100mg for 5 days...I just took my last dose on Saturday and I have to go in on the 22nd for a blood test to check my progesterone levels to see if I ovulated this month...Has anyone with PCOS taken BOTH Metformin and Clomid at the same time and gotten Pregnant after taking Clomid for only 1 month?

ALSO... I BREAK OUT IN HIVES OFTEN ...I THINK BECAUSE OF MY HORMONE CHANGES....DOES ANYONE ELSE DO THIS?

  1. Hives usually indicate an allergic reaction of some kind you should talk with your doctor because you may be allergic to some of your medication. I have PCOS and I have never broken out into Hives from taking any of my medication.

  2. Nope sorry never had a hive in my life.

But as far as the Metformin and Clomid, when ttc #1, Doc put me on Metformin for 3 months, then added Clomid on the 3rd and said to start TTC then, so we did, and yep 1st try with both Metformin and Clomid worked, resulting in a gorgeous baby girl who is now 5½yrs old, and I had a high miscarriage rate from before and stayed on metformin for the 1st trimester and I believe that's what made it possible. after another m/c a year after daughter's birth (no metformin) then conceived again another year later but as soon as I know I was pg - started metformin and now my 2nd lil girl is 3yrs old. and TTC #3 now and again on Metformin and Clomid but not so lucky yet (on 4th cycle).
