Question:

PCS-ing to Fort Carson?

I'm getting ready to report to my first duty station (Army - Ft. Carson, CO) and I'm not really sure what to expect. I see that I will be housed in temporary quarters while I'm in-processing but I'm not sure if I need to make arrangements for permanent housing prior to leaving or if that can be handled while I'm there. If it helps I'm single and I'll be living on-post obviously. Any help or experience in this area?

  1. Here's a couple of links for you. There doesn't seem to be much for the single guy but there is information you need to know. You don't need to make arrangements for housing. They'll assign you to a barracks when you get there. When they know what unit you're going to they'll get a sponsor for you to show you around. Or should.

  2. It's one of the most beautiful posts.  You have a gorgeous view of the moutains, hence a lot of outdoor sports and activities are very popular.  Mountain bike riding, hiking, snowboarding, skiing, rafting, kayaking, fishing, jogging, etc.  If you are an outdoorsy person, you'll love it.  Lots of snow.

    Welcome!
