  1. i agree that they shouldnt be given a hard time. I was going to become one, but i dont have a passport yet, so i cant :(

  2. I understand what your saying, and i sort of agree....But i still think of them as toy police...with no real authority....What we really need are more REAL police on the beat...

  3. this is not a question.

  4. Unfortunately PCso`s have received bad press which some bring on themselves by their overzealous nature in thinking they have the same powers as true police officers.

Where we lived some time ago we had a great PCSO, he was the face of the police on the street, gathering information and liaising with the public and assisting in arrests. He tried to join the regulars but failed because of his communication skills, what a farce.

  5. its just a way for government to have more 'police' on the streets. im sure their training is hard and stressful but they have no powers like a proper PC. Only on the streets because public have demanded a police presence.

  6. I feel sorry for some of them: It's not like they work in a call centre and go home at the end of the night and complain about the odd rude call: They are treated quite badly by rude people, they are only human at the end of the day

  7. I'm sure they do in some areas, however the ones in our town are well known for 'patrolling' the streets. Our community is not sure how much they can see when they are sat in shops having cups of tea! It is a joke even among the police force in the town that certain shops have big biscuit tins.
