PCSing to Bragg, Questions?

My husband and I are PCSing to Bragg in October...just wondering how well they take care of special needs kids? Our son had a transplant last year and still has a feeding tube. He is enrolled in EFMP so I was wondering if there is special needs daycare available? I saw on the website that they have PT and OT onpost? Anyone have a special needs kid on Bragg that can fill me in on what's available? Thanks in advance!

  1. I had a young man on my fire team that turned down an opportunity to go to the old guard because of the care his kid got. According to him it is the best to be found on any post. It stands to reason as Ft Bragg is now the premier post in the United States.

  2. WOMACK which is the hospital on Ft Bragg is suppose to be one of the best hospitals in the Army.  I need to warn you that their is a shortage of doctors for the Pediatric and family care clinics and getting an appointment can be EXTREMELY difficult.  The pediatric clinic is closed currently to new patients unless the need is warranted, which your situation certainly warrants the assignment.  The doctors once you get in are very good.  I would hope their would be no delay in the service of your child but I wanted to warn you ahead of time.  We just PCSed  here and my son is on medication. It was a battle to get him seen to get his medication refill.  Good luck on your PCS and I hope everything goes smoothly with your son!
