  1. disposable barbecues - and Morrison's various pasta ina can things - you just sit the can on the barbecue and have your burgers and sausages with it.

  2. Take a deck of cards for when you are all campered out and need something relaxed to do.

For food, I guess the normal stuff if you are car camping. If you need to be careful about fridges or packing then macaroni, beans hot-dogs etc.

No eggs if you need to backpack, they always break.

  3. pancake mix that you just add water to make, watch the syrup - or even leave it at home and use only butter.

rice and stir fry veggies - cut the veggies up and add the herbs to them in a large baggie, then they are ready to throw in the pot.  The rice stays warm with the lid on the pot while you cook the veggies, in case you only have a one burner stove.

I sneak in breakfeast bars, for dessert the first night of camping.

    nuts

2 of 3 avacodos and bread for sandwiches (goes good on tuna sandwiches, if you eat meat)

grits are light weight and make a filling breakfeast food

  4. you can bring a lot of stuff.... you can take snacks and juices and food like sandwiches would be a best idea.....WOW!!!! gud luck...i love camping 2

  5. an emergency survival kit, you do not know what lurking about, and a Mobil phone, bury the emergency kit well away from your pitch, but remember where it is.      Let someone know where you are going and time expected back

  6. In my experience in my 4 yrs as a Boy Scout, if you are backpacking, self heating meals are a lifesaver, although it is very possible to take other things. Pasta and sauce are awesome since they can give you some energy. All you need is a couple of portable camp stoves (propane) and a pot or two. Make sure you divide the gear so one person is not responsible for all the weight. If you can drive in, anything is possible, but meat can thaw if not in a cooler, but over a day or so in a cooler it will be fine. Trust me, my troop has done it. Canned goods are heavy, but will last long and taste great. Remember, what you take in you take out and what food you take you'll have to have the equipment to cook it, unless it's precooked, but where's the fun in that? : )

  7. it's always good to bring canned food like soups and all that. If you are premitted to make a fire, then you should deffinitely buy some things you could heat over the fire. Try putting a piece of bread on a stick and hold it over the fire until it's a bit crunchy. It's very good! Just like out of a toaster!

  8. meats come in easy-open  packets now, like tuna or chicken for quick sandwiches, have some chips with that for lunch. As for any meats you bring, like burgers or chicken, freeze them ahead of time then pack them on ice in a cooler so they will last the two-three days you will be there. A bottle of Italian dressing is a great marinade for any meat you will bring, I package chicken in those gallon disposable bags and douse them with the dressing, then like I said freeze it. When it defrosts, it marinades at the same time. Don't reuse that dressing, though, you know. For breakfast, there is that pre-made pankake mix in the refrigerated section. I just saw fully cooked bacon in Wal Mart that does not need refrigeration. don't know how that is but it's something. Cereal comes in individual sized boxes, with that you can have the boxed milk, Parmelat it does not need refrigeration until opened. My friend says it is ok and uses it in a pinch if she runs out of milk for her brood. take fruit, and lots of water. Don't forget the bug spray !
