PEAVEY TRANSTUBE AUDITION 110. PLUG UNIT IN POWERS UP . SITS THERE AND HUMS LOUDLY. SPEAKER WORKS. plug guitar in can hear it faintly, push lead chanel button in , hum gets super loud. HUM IS IN PROPORTION TO VOLUME k**b. OPENED UNIT UP TO SEE IF THERE IS ANY LOOSE WIRES OR GROUND STRAP PROBLEM.( there is not even a grouding plug on this unit or a ground lift switch) It ONLY HAS A 2 PRONG PLUG. CHECKED PC BOARD FOR BURN MARKS,LOOKED FOR VISABLE BAD ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS. CHECKED ALL INPUT JACKS WHERE THE GUITAR GOES IN . THEY ARE WORKING FINE.PHYSICAL CONDITION OF THIS AMP IS GREAT.PC BOARD IS SIMPLE .SOME RESISTORS, CAPS...BLA, BLA BLA...I THINK I HAVE IT DOWN TO 3 COMPONENTS THERES A TRIAC WITH 5 LEGS( 69af lm1875t)possibly spiked or bad. dont know the electrical value of this item. theres a super small IC plug in Prom chip on the board (e1a-695 a9716) possibly spiked or bad maby needs replacement. Then last... possibly an open winding in the transformer?? causing him or sending voltage where it isnt supose to go? this is a solid state unit No tubes...Any history of this amp in troubleshooting . what should i tackle first?any ideas? thanks Doug
