Question:

PECO wind?

which greenhouse gas does it reduce? i know its a different way of obtaining energy, but which gas does it reduce emissions of? and are there any negative aspects of using wind energy instead of other older forms of energy?

  1. it is replacing electricity produced by burning coal or gas, so the saving is on the carbon dioxide that would have been emitted by those power plants if the wind turbines were not there.

    the wind turbines do not produce any gases while they are generating, only in their manufacture, and that is paid off in the first couple of years. they last over 25 years.

  2. The great problem with wind energy so far is that as you try to scale it up you end up spending more energy into it than you get out of it.
