Deep in thought, with the thoughts being more of sadness etc.

I used this sentence recently on a blog I posted:

I'm in a rather pensive mood as I think about the very near future loss of my grandmother who has been stricken with terminal cancer.

*Heroically* There can be only one meaning to this word!

O... k... First. There is one thing you can mean by that, then another. The one in Harry Potter or the other one I don't know what it means. So you should probably go to dictionary.com and see what it means.
