  1. Perseus is a mythological figure, like King Arthur, and it is questionable whether such a person ever existed at all. He is much older than what you quote,  if he lived it was in the bronze age. Mycenae is supposed to have been founded or re-founded by Greeks at the end of the second millennium before the Common Era.

The myths about him are fairly well told in:

  2. can you pick me as best answer?

    it never happened to me

    :(

  3. my by ,cud be.

  4. No, he would be much older if he existed. The myth pre-dates the Trojan war, so that would put him back >1200BCE. Supposedly, he was five generations before Atreus, which is one generation before Menaleus and Agamemnon. So that would put him at ~1300 BCE.

But the five generations things is just a guess by some guy that lived several hundred years later.

Also, according to some versions, the Persians trace their descent to him as well. And Andromeda was supposed to be black, so that would put it in Africa.

Probably the Greeks just invented a lineage so they could connect the myth to their culture.

  5. Because the dates are wrong.  Now, yes, he's a character in ancient Greek mythology, but so are Abraham, Isaac, etc. in the mythologies of the Abrahamic religions and peoples.  You have to remember that the fall of Mycenae occured in roughly 1100 BC with Mycanae's founding in roughly 1600 BC, ample time for legends to surround the cities founding.  The first time these myths and legends were written down, or at least that we know of, were written down in Hellenistic times.  So, of course, there's lots of time for myths to change and develop.

  6. first he never did live thats why its called MYTHology 2nd he never dies he was chained to a rock so the buzzards could come every night and pluck out his eyes and such

  7. He didn't he was a mythical hero; he was just part of a fictional legend.

  8. BC time counted down to zero. 4 bc, 3 bc, 2 bc, 1 bc, 1 ad, 2 ad, 3 ad, etc. etc.

  9. The years in B.C. are counted backwards.  The years in A.D. go the other way.

    If someone was born in 162 A.D, he would be 1 in 163 A.D., 2 in 164 A.D., and 50 in 212 A.D.

    If someone was born in 162 B.C., he would be 1 in 161 B.C., 2 in 160 B.C., AND 50 IN 212 B.C.

  10. b.c. stands for before christ so they count down the years instead of counting up.

  11. remember that records were hardly keep back in those days.

  12. bc back then it was like that
