  1. No, it's not Slovak, it's Slovenian. Before switching to euro, Slovenia had tolar, and tolarjev is the plural form: 500 tolarjev:

  2. Most likely Slovenians, not Slovak. They have the Eurodollar now, but it was 500 tolars.
