The Players’ Football Association chief, Gordon Taylor has gone on to suggest that video technology needs to be used in order to keep track of players who dive during games, in order to punish them either during or after the game.
Diving has slowly started to incorporate itself into the modern game of football, and this past weekend it was one of the few things everyone was talking about.
In Arsenal’s game against West Brom, many felt that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Santi-Cazorla-c32505 went on dive to the ground to win the team’s first penalty of the night, which is what helped the Gunners take the lead in the game, and ultimately win the match.
Despite this incident, Taylor has not gone on to take any names over the players who he feels need to kept in check. Instead he has suggested that video technology needs to come into the game sooner rather than later, in order to keep all the players in
check, and to ensure that a fair game takes place.
"I don't want to personalise it because he wouldn't be the first player accused of diving and he won't be the last, but it's an issue that we all need to address," Taylor said in a recent interview.
"Management, coaching staff, players and supporters have all got to buy into this and condemn it.”
"This has been a non-stop subject for a long time now - how we best deal with it given the pace of the game and the difficulties for referees and the assistant referees to judge”
"I think it's going to be inevitable that if technology comes in for goalline decisions and penalty decisions, then it will help in these situations.”
"Other sports move on and use technology and do all they can to be as successful as football, so we've got to keep at that cutting edge.”
The use of replay technology has started to slowly but surely become a massive requirement in almost every football game. There have been numerous experiments in the past, which saw extra linesmen get placed behind goals.
Despite that incorporation of an extra linesman, not much has happened to benefit the decision making process. As a result, it is safe to say that the only way for football to move forward towards being a clean sport, some form of video technology needs
to be incorporated into the game.
