PGA Deutsche Bank Championship preview (Part 2)
For the readers who went through the first half of the preview of the Deutsche Bank Championship this is the second half.
Adam Scott
The second player on the list of top 5 is Adam Scott. He has a good story with the old TPC Boston where he holds a fine record of winning in 2003, followed by a second place finish the next year, then a dip towards 50th place, and surged back to the seventeenth spot in 2007.
Adam Scott has not been to the TPC Boston course after 2007, which means he is not familiar with the changes that have been made to the course. Discussing his previous results a certain trend is noticed in his performance. In 2008 when he made a comeback after a year of injury and illness he delivered three rounds of 70-68-73, but failed to reach the final. However, a year before he carded 68-72-66, in three rounds and when he was near victory he took a withdrawal and ended in 17th place. However, Adam Scott won on his first visit to the course, which he cherishes as the only good memory from TPC Boston.
Coming to his current performances at other places in the season, Scot posted a top nine finish in two of the three events in which he made the cut. One was at the WGC Bridgestone Invitational and the other one was at the Barclays which mean that the player is in full form to take a charge and post a second win. The second win here narrates another victory at the Texas Open in the month of May.
Talking to the press, Adam Scott said that he feels confident after his finish at Ridgewood Country club. He further added that the playoff that pushed him into the runners-up position last week was a boosting platform and now he feels that he is ready for another victory. Similar compliments arise from experts, as they say that Scott has improved a lot especially in his putting and if he keeps up with his game no doubt very soon he will be experience another victory.
Coming to his stats he is ranked 10th in Putting Average and the 3rd in Ball Striking, which signifies that the player has all the chances to be in the top 5 of the Deutsche Bank Championship.
Phil Mickelson
The third player on our list is Phil Mickelson and why won’t he?
Although, he missed the cut at The Barclays, he is the second best golfer of his generation and a tough competitor. Looking back at his stats he has four consecutive victories in the majors of four years. In 2008 he won the Northern Trust Open after missing the cut  at Pebble Beach, followed by a victory at the  Tour Championship, after  he finished 30th in the 70-man field at the BMW tournament. The same year he won the Northern Trust Open after finishing at 55th spot at Pebble Beach and he finally won the 2010 US Masters after finishing tied in 35th place in Houston. These stats signify one thing that after missing the cut at The Barclays,
Phil Mickelson is ready to strike back at TPC Boston.
This was the end of the betting preview that started with Jim Furyk at the top spot, Adam Scott in second position and Phil Mickelson at third. This order can be different depending upon the comfort level of Jim Furyk and striking pace of Phil Mickelson, so let’s see who lifts the Wanamaker trophy this week.
