PGA Golf is at its best without you know who...?

Question

As a Jim Furyk fan I haven't enjoyed watching golf this much since he won the weekend he won the US Open. I have to say I am reallt happy that tiger isn't playing right now. When you watch golf they spend time showing more players and its great. I do have to say that I am pretty tired of hearing everyone talk as if Tiger is Jesus himself. I don't have an issue with Tiger I have an issue with the media coverage of Tiger. I got up early today to watch the British Open and all they still have been talking about is Tiger. To me enough is enough. I would love to get some other opinions on this topic. Tell me do you like golf without Tiget playing more or less. Also do you get sick of hearing about him or not?

I like it and I don't. First the good part. It gives a lot of other players an actual shot to win a major! It's fun to see new players up top the leaderboard. Now the bad... It was great seeing Rocco and other players getting close and watching Tiger at it's best. It takes some fun out of the game, but overall I don't think Tiger is a huge loss to PGA.

its not the fault of media. it is you and me i guess. we love to hear or see more about the 'Best's. will you hear about me, how i play golf ? but there are thousands of people out there eager to know what tiger eats, how he sleeps etc. so it is not media. its easy to blame other. bottom line is, i agree it is not 'Tiger' nor 'media', it is you and me to be blamed. haaaa. tanks

Personally, I have always enjoyed watching the best play this game. Nelson, Snead, Hogan, Nicklaus,Norman and Woods have been the drawing cards for the media and the best will always draw. As for the announcers, there are several blank spots in the broadcast which have to be filled with minutia. The absent TW will be a subject for discussion so if you cannot stand the tripe there is a thing on your telly named " sound control " which can always be lowered or eliminated. Have you given that a thought ? The manner in which you stated your objection I think Tiger is a big issue with you.Enough said!!

I do agree it makes things a bit more interesting, since the winner isn't a foregone conclusion from week to week now.

Of course, the PGA hates it because half their fan base has tuned out.  Hopefully, it'll be a wake-up call to them when they realize that their current popularity hinges upon one golfer, who's not going to play forever.

i think u just hate tiger the game is not the same with the best player in the world and the media focus on him because they dont want to miss anything he might do
