PGA’s soggy Q-school and the South Africans
The 19 players, who have been able to seep through the tight competition towards a 150 player battle field, faced a rather soggy penultimate stage.
According to reports, the golfers contending for the 108 hole struggle will never forget Saturday's downpour along with other memories gathered from the second stage of PGA Q school competition.
The ultimate stage of the Q school will commence from the 1st of December and will welcome various players from different struggles.
The day had been difficult from every aspect, the Bear Creek Golf Club in Murietta, California, placed Tyrone van Aswegen on the top of the leader board when the Sunshine tour player carded a 71 in the last round to make his way to one of the six golf courses
of the last stage.
The South African golfer managed to record a score of 11 under par that pushed him easily in the 19 player list which is due to appear at California, Florida and Texas.
As far as the records are concerned, no one deemed it a successful attempt to shatter the 70 and 12 players recorded rounds of 80 or worse. The conditions forced the players into carding such a high amount of scores that Bio Kim, who is regarded as a fairly
competitive player, scored an astonishing 79 and still managed to land in the sixth place.
Other than Tyrone van Aswegen, many South Africans failed to make it to the 19th place line-up for the final stage. Hamilton, Deane and Brenden Pappas, Andrew McLardy and Trevor Fisher Jr. couldn’t make it to the final round unfortunately and
thus had to forget about 2011's PGA Tour.
Keith Clearwater grabbed a three stroke lead over every other golfer in Coral Springs, Florida, who was followed by a number of people fighting for the second spot. The runner-up position thus had the golfers Lee Rinker, Frankie Minoza and Phil Blackmar
carding a 275. The players from Jupiter, Fla, Manila, Philippines and Corpus Christi, Texas finished the play with a thirteen under to end at second place.
Garth Mulroy on the other hand grabbed the 13th place and will thus be moving further to the final stage at the Orange County Golf Center. Other than the center the player will also be setting his foot on the Lodge in California from the 1st
of this month to the 6th of the same month.
