PHF Academy, Lahore, Multan, Karachi win matches in 3rd Junior Super Hockey League
In the second day of the 3rd Junior Super Hockey League, Lahore, Multan, Karachi and PHF Academy have been emerged victorious in their respective matches played on Thursday at the National Hockey Stadium Lahore.
Lahore thrashed Quetta in the first game of the day by three goals, 3-0. The players from Lahore displayed impressive game and dominated throughout the two periods. Ali Hamza scored the first goal for Lahore in the 25th minute. After the first
half of play, Lahore was leading the game by a single point, 1-0. The right and left flanks, besides the midfielder were coordinating impressively and carried out back-to-back attacks. Arsalan Sherazi and his team-mate, Hafiz Sardar, scored a couple of goals
in the 51st and 65th minute and expanded the lead up to three goals. Lahore rode away the field with a commanding 3-0 victory.
In the second game, PHF Academy outclassed Faisalabad by 3-1 to improve their position in the event. The PHF Academy squad earned a goal in the first half action, while holding the opposite side scoreless in the period. Daud Khalid scored the only goal of
the first 35 minutes.
The attackers from PHF Academy cranked up their offence and scored another two goals, while limiting Faisalabad only to a single goal. Zohaib Ashraf and Ali Hasan scored one goal apiece in the 41st and 65th minute of the game and sealed
the victory of PHF Academy. Waseem Abbas scored the only goal for Faisalabad in the 65th minute of the game and lost the game by two goals.
In another game, Multan defeated Peshawar by five goals, 6-1 and strengthened their position in the league. The Multan team started the game quite offensively and scored two goals against the single goal of their competitors. Faisal Qadir scored the first
goal in the 7th minute of the game to put his team ahead on the score-board. In the later time, Arsalan Qadir doubled the tally in the 17th minute of the game. The first half of play concluded with Multan sitting on top with two points,
2-0.
In the second half, Samiullah Sadiq added first goal from Peshawar, but to no avail. Within two minutes, Khurram Shahzad scored a goal and regained a two-goal lead, 3-2. Safir Hussain and Umar Hamdia scored two and one goal respectively, and managed the
victory for Multan.
In the last game of the day, Karachi outplayed Sialkot by a single point, 2-1. Ali Nouman and Zohaib Azeem scored one goal each in the 16th and 58th minute of the game. The Sialkot team could only score a single goal in the second half
of play and lost the game.
