PIERCINGS - what are the best MATERIALS/METALS to use in them?

I got my nose pierced a little while ago (2 months), and I'd like to get a seamless ring/continuous ring to put into it after I remove the original CBR. What kinds of metal are the best to put in? (types that won't get me infected/irritated, that will help the healing process, types that can stay in a LONG time without removal)

I know surgical steel is one of them, but can you find surgical steel jewelry in colors (not just silver)?

**Also, any body jewelry websites that you use/trust are much appreciated!

  1. Surgical steel are usually not in colors, just the gem can be if its going to be a stud. Titanium is another good quality metal that can be found in all different sorts of colors, real 14karat or 18karat gold are also great quality metals.

Titanium usually come in different colors such as these:

  3. stainless surgical steel

  4. Implant grade titanium, niobium and of course surgical stainless steel are all safe for long term wear as well as initial jewelry material. Glass is also suitable for initial and long term wear. Titanium and niobium are the only metals used in body jewelry that can be anodized/colored.

This has been my main site for basically everything. Excellent prices and selection, fantastic customer service. Lots of quality items from Industrial Strength, Glasswear Studios, Gorilla Glass, Omerica, Evolve, Anatometal, etc. Permanent 10% off after you register (free) and spend $275.

Kind of the same story as here, though I find their prices slightly higher. I come here when I can't find what I need at BAF.

Other than that I'll go to my local shop or to manufacturer/artist sites and buy direct. Hope that helped! :D
