PITCHING, whats more important? location, speed, movement, or mechanics?

what do you think is the most important?

i am in tiple A nd i am a relief pitcher its in order which is important mechanics cuz without it u wouldnt have speed u would have bad location and no movement so mechanics r most important

Mechanics are the most important because if the pitcher does not have them then the game will get hitter-friendly.

I'd Take pinpoint location over a blazing fastball or a killer tailing fastball that will freze batters. Or even the best mechanics in the league. With great location no one will hit you. A 95 fast ball will get hit hard if you have no control. An 85 fastball that located perfectly will get hit but with no power behind it.

Although, all is neccesary, if i ahd to choose one that was most important i would choose location.  When a hitter cant even throw for strikes, it wont even matter what type of pitch he throws or how hard he throws it, the batter just needs to stand there.

I think if one is able to paint the corner, that itself will puzzle the hitter enough to atleast make him confused about the strike zone.

A great example is Justin Duchsherer.  He cant throw hard, but he can sure locate his pitches.

EDIT: I get the feeling you'll be receiving a lotta "To be good, you need all of them".  So im gonna save you the trouble and give you a straight up answer. :)

Well all of them help if u have them. but it depends on what kind of a pitcher u are. If u are like nolan ryan then u only worry about speed and location. but if u are a person that throws a good knuckler u worry about mechanics (because its going to dance around anyways). Or u might just be good at throwing the Duecer then all u concentrate on is movement....... hope it helps

I have heard professional hitters talk about movement.  They said that no matter how fast that ball comes in and there is no movement on it, big league hitters will catch up to it.

all of them!  but the most important is taking care of your arm and doing the proper exercises religiously
