PLEASE, tell me the best way to get cat urine smell out of my rugs?

I have a steam cleaner, are there any solutions I can safely use or sprays that actually work? All I've done so far is mask the smell.

Sorry, but I don't think you can get the smell out on your own.  I tried everything years ago when my cat sprayed my drapes.  I even sent them to a professional cleaner....the smell came back.  You might check with a pet store like PetCo, etc.  Good luck!  Cat pee smell is gross!

My mom turned me on to Woolite Pet Stain & Oder Remover. It works really well. Give it a try.

We just bought a house that had horrible cat urine odor in it. We hired a professional company to clean the rugs and it worked really well. Otherwise, I know Bissell, they make a lot of steam cleaners, has a formula for pet odors. I don't think it works all that great though.

Nature's Miracle and Simple Solution will work on the carpet.  If the urine has soaked inothe padding or the flooring you have a larger problem

Keep the cat outdoors. Try baking soda or some lemon juice rubben in well with a brush.
