  1. It is a great place to have your honeymoon.  There are various ruins in Cancun actually... the more important & well known ones are Chichen Itza, Coba and Tulum.  As for good destinations,  the most prevalent ones are the gorgeous beaches.  There is downtown Cancun (or Centro) with its many shops, restaurants & beautiful architecture.  You should also visit the many ecological parks they have there.  Two of these parks are Xel-Ha ( which in Mayan means "where the water is born") and the other isXcaret (meaning "small cove").  At Xcaret they offer a very awesome night show with traditional Mayan attire, dance and music... I beleive it's called "Xcaret at night" show.  There is also Playa del Carmen, Island of Cozumel,  Isla Mujeres (catch the boat off of Puerto Juarez in Cancun and it's a 20 minute ride).  Not only that, but you can also go snorkeling or scuba diving at the coral reefs.  It's a great place to visit.  Lot's of mystical & romantic places to go to...  to and fall in love over and over again.

  2. There are no ruins in Cancun.  They are located in Tulum or further.  Cancun has alot to offer for honeymooners and vacationers alike. Everything from shopping, clubbing, booze cruises (mostly for spring breakers), fine dining, beach clubs, sailing, boating, scuba diving, snorkeling, spas, massages on the beach, parasailing, and even swimming with the dolphins or sharks.  Check out http://www.dreams.com and http://www.secrets.com for some great resorts in the Cancun and Playa del Carmen area.  If you would like to experience luxury, pristine beaches, and great tours or ruins then I would suggest staying in Playa del Carmen just down the road from Cancun and only a 45 minute ferry ride from Cozumel.  It is centrally located to everything and Playa is absolutely beautiful.  I would love to answer any more of your questions or help you discuss options for your honeymoon you can email me or visit my site listed below.

  5. Hello

For several respondents, I say, for their ignorance that if there  ruins in Cancun, which are very small does not mean they do not exist and are the ruins of King that is located in Paseo Kukulkán Km 17, there is in the hotel zone.

Obvious to all tourists the most attractive are the ruins of Chichenitza that if they are more or less a 2 hour trip, but certainly worthwhile, is one of the 7 Wonders of the Modern World, are also the ruins of Tulum, from Playa del Carmen, The ruins of Coba, within the Xcaret Park also has ruins.

We recommend this site you can find lots of information for your trip http://www.cancunwonders.com

You'll find deals and discounts on hotels and tours.

    Happy Honeymoon

  6. There are no ruins in Cancún.

Chichen Itza, named to the new 7 Wonders of the World, is 2 and a half hours away to the west.

Tulum is 2 hours down the coast from Cancún,

Coba is 45 minutes east of Tulum.
