Ok, with this pill it should be taken at the same time each day and if you forget to take a pill, you should take it as soon as you remember, and if you are more than twelve hours late taking a pill, you wont be protected against pregnancy

Normally i take my pill at 8.00am on week days and between 12.00pm and 2.00pm on the weekend. (so thats ok)

The other day i forgot to take my pill and i took it about 5.30pm, the next day i completely forgot and had s*x and then took the pill at 10.30pm.

so was i still protected?

i am really really confused

please help

thanks

  1. no, you arent protected go get emergency contraception from the family planning clinic, your GP or the chemist. you can take it up to 72 hours after protected s*x its called levonelle or you can just ask for emergency contraception...  you need to take the pill at least 48 hours before you are protected again and it can take up to a week depending which pill you are on.

ACTUALLY it depends what pill you are on?? the mini pill is only 3 hour window, some others are a 12 hour window so check which window you have for your particular pill..

  2. your probably be okay

  3. You're pregnant.

  4. Sure, because you used a condom.  Right??  Birth control isnt 100% even if you dont forget to take it.

  5. one answer....u got knocked up!!!!!! pregnant!!!!!!!! LOL!!!

    BURN!!!!

  6. that's what you get for having s*x at a young age don't if i were your parents i wouldn't care i would have said you should have made the right choose but you didn't so sorry i cant be much help learn next time

  7. Taking the pill at different times on the weekend is not ok , as ur body doesnt know the difference between weekend and weekday , u need to take it at around the same time EVERY day , also , if u forgot and left it that long , you WONT be protected for about another 2 to 4 weeks , so use condoms for this period. But dont freak out , this doesnt mean u r pregant , it just means the chances of u falling pregnant were increased, if ur next period is late , check it out , otherwise , dont worry about it to much.

Also , things like being sick , gastro , vomiting and even the influenza can affect the pills effectiveness, so keep an eye on that too.

But yeh , basically use condoms for the next month to 6 weeks , take ur pill at the same time everyday (even weekends) and keep an eye on ur next period , but if ur super worried , see ur GP.

  8. I think if I did the math correct, you should be protected.

But you never know. Pills aren't always 100% effective, even when you take them on time.

  9. uh ooooooooohhhhh

  10. you should be ok.  most pills you are still protected until you miss 2 days in a row.  and it doesnt automatically mean you are going to get pregnant, your risks just go up.

  11. WELL DONT TAKE ANY CHANCES I DONT THINK UR PREGO BUT HEY IT CAN HAPPEN ARE YOU LATE? IF YOU ARE I SUGGEST HPT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE AND IF YOUR NOT TRY OTHER BIRTH CONTROL PILLS MY SISTER CAME OUT PREGO BEIN ON BIRTH CONTROL AND SHE DIDNT SKIP NONE.....SO JUST TRY SOMETHING THAT YOU WONT FORGET AND MORE SAFE

  12. Yes you're still protected but the percentage of protection went down.

If you take the pill properly it's about 98 or 99% effective.

Now that you missed one, it probably went down to like 80% effectiveness.

  13. I think that if it's still less than 72 hours since you had s*x, you can have the "morning after" pill. I'm not sure whether or not you need a prescription but I'd phone the chemist to find out. If you do, phone your doctor and he'll probably write one there and then. You then go to the surgery, collect the prescription and take it to the chemist.

If it's beyond the permitted time limit, buy a pregnancy test kit and decide now whether you'll go through with a pregnancy or abort. If you choose to abort, the sooner you have it done the better. At 6 weeks, an abortion is hardly noticeable and the foetus can hardly be called human. It's beginning to take form but I'd reckon that it would feel considerably less than a worm that you kill accidentally.

  14. There is a  chance to get pregnant even if you do take the pill everyday and the exact same time.  Chances are that you had the pill in your system and shouldn't end up pregnant, but try to not forget them.  Good luck.

  15. Cant believe some women are ignorant enough to take man made chemicals whilst being completely unaware of the real implications to their fertility. It constitutes a complete lack of respect for your body.

Just use a condom or tell him not to c u m in you...simple hah?

Else dont start complaining when you need IVF...should you ever want a child. As that's the most precious thing you may ever have in life.

  16. I'm not sure becuase it's varies from person to person. it's hard for a straight answer. So I suggest getting an Emergency contraception, ask for it over the counter at pharmacies (Boots). As long as you take the pill 72 hours or less since you've done it, you should be fine.

  17. You can still get pregnant!!!!

You need to take a trip to your doctors office, and while you are their ask him about other forms of birth control - the shot, etc. because pills are no meant to be forgotten and your gonna end up pregnant.

  18. yes ur protected

cuz u've been taking the pill for a while before having s*x...and that stuff was prolly still in ur system...

y didnt you just pull out anyways?? lol

  19. you'll be ok you'll just need to get back on your schedule.but just in case take a P.T just to make sure.

  20. You need to read what is says on the information packet that came with your pill.  It depends on the strength of the pill that you took.  I used to be dreadful about taking it at the wrong time, and I didn't get pregnant on the pill, but is it a risk you want to take?  Is there a help-line number on the packet?  The trouble with Yahoo Answers is we're all likely to give you a different opinion.  You really need to talk to a medical professional.

  21. wat u naming ur baby??

  22. Have you ever noticed how big babies' heads are? I bet that will really hurt when it comes out!

  23. Ok - I doubt you'll get pregnant from this to be honest but better be safe than sorry.

How long ago was it that you had the unprotected s*x?  Within 72 hours?  If so, get yourself down the chemist with £15 and get yourself the morning after pill.  That will cover you.

If it was over 3 days ago, but under 5 - go and see your GP who can fit a special coil that works as emergency contraception.

As for those having a go at you for not using condoms - ignore them - at least your using something which is more than a lot of people!

Just be careful and if you get a new partner remember to cover yourself for STI's - and if your sick.

Also - if you find it hard to remember to take your pill - try another kind of contraception - like the injection or implant.
