Question

can i give my rat a dust bath? will he use it?,...if he doesnt like it and wont use it can i let my rabbit use this stuff?(not the same that was in the rat cage though!)

also how long will it take to build a cage like these?

Since the dust bath may be bad for his respiratory system, you might want to use these instead:

As for the cage, it depends on how many people help you and how handy you are with tools.

are you getting a rat or chinchilla: you sound like if your getting a chinchilla.

for rat you give sand, to give chinchilla dust because of their high density fur. well it's nothing wrong to give rat dust tho it's not necessary and yes they will use it. also that hue fancy cage that you are going to give your rat it won't take long to build if you have patient.

the rat must be very precious to you.
