YOU COULD EDIT.

I have to prove why George Orwell’s Animal Farm is both a satire and an allegory.

George Orwell's Animal Farm is both a satire and an allegory for many reasons. (I need help with the thesis)

A satire is when you’re insulting an idea. And Animal Farm seems to do just that. It is a satire because it uses comedy to express a very real and serious aspect of life. It can be read on several levels and present many life lessons. Its also a satire because its making fun of humans, the russian/soviet government, and the way they did things.

An allegory means the symbolism it represents. The Pigs represent all the dictators that were in this world (ex. Hitler and Stalin). All the other animals represent the people except for Nepolean, the boar, who is gradually gaining power from the overthrowing of Snowball and with his dogs. An allegory because it is a metaphor about a farm society that represents the human society.

Can you give me any tips? This has to be very well developed, and its not. Thanks.

  1. George Orwell's celebrated novel, 'Animal Farm', is a satirical allegory using humor directed at symbolic characters to make a statement about Mr. Orwell's impression of human government.

Satire is a tool for ridiculing an idea by using comedy to express very real and serious aspects of life. Animal Farm does just that. It can be read on several levels as it homorously presents many life lessons, along with making fun of humans themselves, and their governments.

The allegory is a story that uses symbolism to show a parallel, technically unrelated, message. The symbolism in Animal Farm includes that animal characters' representations of different walks of life. (eg. the pigs being the aristocracy, and dogs being the thugs, and the horses being the role model proletarians). Animal Farm uses the microcosm of a farm to stab at greater patterns in human society at large.

  2. thank you for defining the assignments requirements, "satire" & "allegory".  I did not know what these 2 words meant.  I have read the book. I've even explained it to others when a similiar situation proves power over others always swells heads.  It is most difficult NOT to abuse power, wether it is power over your family, school, church, work, county, or Country.  As your definitions are informative, your entire paragraphs are short concise, and cover all that needs to be said.  You'd get an A by me, but alas I am not the power that be's, in this situation.

  3. INTRODUCTION

George Orwell's celebrated novel, 'Animal Farm' written in 1946 is a satirical allegory using humor directed at symbolic characters to make a statement about Mr. Orwell's impression of human government. Man is constantly struggling for power and this novel allegorically shows it.

    SATIRE

Satire is a tool for ridiculing an idea by using comedy to express very real and serious aspects of life. Animal Farm does just that. It can be read on several levels as it humorously presents many life lessons, along with mocking of humans themselves and  their governments, especially Russia or what later became the Soveit Union.

    ALLEGORY

The allegory is a story that uses symbolism to show a  technically unrelated message. The symbolism in Animal Farm includes that animal characters' representations of different walks of life. (eg. the pigs being the aristocracy, and dogs being the thugs, and the horses being the role model proletarians). An example of that is in Animal Farm uses a farm to stab at greater patterns in human society at large. The so called "government" the pigs are running is like a communism government. The pigs represent Karl Marx and Friedrich Engles. The Actual Farm (Manor Farm) symbolizes Russia, or what became the Soviet Union ("Animal Farm"). The surrounding farms are acting as other countries that were influenced by communism. This is very allegorical.
