Can't remember right now where I heard this on the radio, but the person saying it was a total professional in the field. He was explaining how in Iran automobiles go in into certain gasoline stations_or mechanic garages_and in less than 45 minutes, come out prepared to use mixed and/or any other fuel_ethanol perhaps?

First of all is that possible? Second, why would they do this if they own so much oil?

  1. Iran is dependent on foreign countries for oil exploration and oil refining.

Because of the hostility that Iran has shown to many of the countries with the best technology, such as the United States Iran does not have any significant new oil discoveries, bacause the United States is no longer providing oil exploration services to Iran.

The same is true with Iranian refining capacity.

Iran has to import refined products, such as gasoline because Iran does not have any hew oil refineries.

  2. Iran does not own most of the worlds oil, they have a lot but no where near "most".

  3. Iran has very little oil.

  4. Actually Colorado has 8 times more oil than all OPEC countries combined.

And now can be extracted for $10.00 a barrell

  5. I don't think they have any refinery facilities to produce the petrol. They have to sell it all as crude oil, which is much less profitable. That's also why they want nuclear power, They were actually advised to go down that road 10(?) years ago by an American proffessor, details as sketchy as yours!!

  6. Yes, it's true.  Iran had invested very little in gasoline refineries that it has to import gasoline from other countries like China.  Although Iran has vast amounts of oil, it cannot refine enough gasoline due to lack of sufficient refineries and the infrastructure to deliver it (such as pipe-lines).

  7. So they can sell it to us and make a huge profit from their enemies. That the answer in a nutshell.

  8. Saudi Arabia has far more Oil than Iran.

And Canada has more Oil than Iran too.

Iran is only the 3rd most oil rich country.

  9. How do you know how much oil they still have?   Middle east countries don't allow outsiders to verify how much they have or how much they sell.   Maybe they are nearing the end of their oil and are changing over so they aren't stuck at a gas station that has nothing to sell like Americans will be one day.

  10. Yes they make money selling the oil.  Doesn't mean they need it.

Its like a baker who sells cakes full of sugar for a profit.  But for his own family he only makes sugar-free cakes sweetened with dates and bananas.  The sugar cakes are faster and cheaper.  But for his family, he wants the best.

No one on this planet needs oil except the people who are making tons of money on it.  It is totally possible to operate fully on solar power and water etc.  Like the cars that can run on water.  But would someone who makes billions on oil want you to know that cars could run on water?  Course not.  Anyway ...

  11. well right now america is only using E85 because the technology isn't there yet... theres no way Iran has better technology on this then americans. Perhaps if this was possible they could be using that old crazy mercantilism idea but if thats so we would be in iran for their technological research instead.

  12. I read somewhere that in comparsion with other countries they have or will in the very near future have huge problem with pollution.  Makes sense I guess since we all know that emissions from gasoline can be hard on the environment.

  13. so u really think Iran can ,,,in 45 min create a multi fuel vehicle??  hay i have a 150 mile per gallon carburetor to sell..you lookin to buy?...maybe they are nuclear powered cars.

  14. its because they know how addictive the stuff can be for a country

  15. If they reduce their oil usage they have more available to sell to the rest of the world.

There is also the fact that eventually Iran will run out of oil at which point they're going to have to find another source of energy so they've decided that they may as well start now while they have the resources than after the oil runs out when they're bankrupt.

Not sure it'd take only 45 minutes to do such a conversion though.

  16. Because they sell it yo! Oil is worth billions of dollars, hence some multiple military conflicts in that area. Would you use a lot of a resource that you know could sell for billions? And besides if they invent the next way for alternative fuels, way more money for them.
